@timofly About 4 years ago I got a rock chip. I wanted Porsche glass since that’s what was chipped and insurance would cover my choice of glass. Called all the DC area Porsche dealers for pricing on the part and install fee. The cheapest on the glass was Porsche Chantilly. I think it was $600-ish. They told me they bring in an old school guy to install glass in older Porsches.They said “we’ll just give you his number and you can work directly with him - he’ll come scoop the glass from us and install at your house.” Took them up on the offer. I think he charged me $150. He was familiar with the clips, butyl tape, and chrome trim. Total pro. I’ll see if I can dig up his email or mobile number. He brought his son with him - I think he said his son was going to take over the business soon. |
