Let you all know how I did in a couple weeks..
Picked up a windshield thru 914Werke, had a coil of butyl I picked up somewhere along the way (still flexible and sticky). Got the chrome off without damaging too many clips, but still got new ones Cleaned up the old/hard butyl, touched up the metal all around the base (primer/paint). Waiting for a warm day to lay the new butyl down and set the new windshield in place. Have the spacers to go across the bottom and sides to properly center it. Any words of wisdom or "don't do this..." still accepted. |
