I received an email from 914 Rubber earlier in the week that the Front & Rear Bumper Top kit was back in stock (I requested an in-stock notification months ago). I went to the site this morning and discovered that they are out-of-stock again already (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) .

I called 914 Rubber after checking the site just to confirm the stock status (yes, out-of-stock), and to also ask if these bumper tops were from the new mold that 914 Rubber was making. The sales agent said she was pretty sure these were from the new mold, but I forgot to ask when the stock will be replenished.

Question - did anyone here happen to purchase a pair of these this week, and if so, any feedback on the fit and finish? IIRC, there were some complaints about the pieces from the previous molds, which is why a new mold was created.

Thanks,
Frank

Here are some pics from my test fit this summer. The bumper has never been bent. This is the left side showing perfect fitment. Notice that the line of the bumper top is straight with the edge of the bumper and it fits nicely on the top of the bumper.

This is the right side, not fitting well. It does not seat correctly on the top of the bumper, which causes the line not to be straight and for the edge to stick out past the side of the bumper.

I thought maybe the material of the bumper top was causing interference so I relieved some of the rubber material as shown below, but it didn't help.

I'm not sure if I'll drill a hole or two and use the screw method or attempt the glue method. I'm going to have the bumper chromed so I'm leaning toward the screw method so I know it will fit properly before taking the bumper for chroming. But I'd rather not be drilling holes in the bumper.
