So after all these years I just noticed something. I have parted many a junk 914 over the last 30yrs. This last year have been a few 75-76 cars and one 74. I use a odometer cable for testing speedometer and grab one of these cables and realized it was way longer than the others. This came out of a 74 the others are out of 75-76 cars.
So were the cables not the same length for all model years? I dont have any different dash frames to see if the hole for the trip odometer is in the same place for all years. I know thru 73 the way it attached to the dash frame was the same and in 74 it went to a plastic push in type clip and black plastic knob but never knew or paid attention to the length. Makes.me wonder why and can you use the short ones on early cars? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Attached thumbnail(s) |
