Our little blue car hit the road for the first time in over 19 years. My dad bought this 1970 914-6 as a roller in 2007. It sat untouched until I started working on it in 2022. I would fly half-way across the country to visit him and chip away at it in 1 week bursts.

Thank you so much to everyone that humored my questions and provided valuable insight to help further our project. I could not have done it without the knowledgable and generous community at 914World.

It now has:
  • Engine completely rebuilt
  • Transaxle refurb by CMS
  • Fuel system replaced
  • Brake system replaced
  • Suspension replaced
  • Lots of DAPO corrections
It is still a rough little car aesthetically, but finally roadworthy. I will have the car trailered to NorCal soon. I look forward to seeing you on the road!

That's a great achievement, Dennis! Trips back and forth to work on the car can be tedious and expensive, but your determination to get the car to this point are admirable to say the least. A real six on the road again is a milestone in anyone's book and takes some serious work. Congratulations on this point of the build...you'll continue to be cheered on to your final goal, and thanks for sharing to give the rest of us some impetus to reach our goals as well!
