To blow $3,000 on my car?
Seems I have (had) an un-needed life insurance policy. Granted I've already subtracted $1,000 for a new 2,0 engine, what else can I do? Maybe a paintjob? Switch to 911SC suspension? Go 5-lug? Supercharge the mofo? Ideas and suggestions apprecieated (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) |

Awesomes... I like all the ideas you have. It is a stock car. from the injection to the wheel hubs to the fuel pump to the bumpers (big steel/rubbers) My intent with this car is to make it handle better (swaybars front and rear?) for weekend-warrior autocrossing, and also more comfortable to drive long distance. But if I acquire another car soon this little bluetard (haha) will get decked for A-X and short-distance driving primarily. As for going with flares... I don't know about that direction just yet. I'm not good enough at body work to do those and I'd be scared seeing my car with 80in wheel wells (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/lol2.gif) But it is a good idea. I know I want to get the car painted (it needs it, badly!) and the body work taken care of. The fenders have already been rolled a bit in back to fit rivieras (wierd offset) so maybe I can already go with 15x6's or 16x7's back there with little effort. If it really comes down to it, I'll borrow my neighbor's sawzall, grinder and welder and push them out more. Touching on the 911 suspension and 5-lug rear... how much does that cost going with good used parts... complete. Like the calipers, rotors, struts, a-arms and tortion bars included? How much will a good set of wheels (cookie cutters or fuchs) set me back? Looks like wheels alone will set me back a grand, then tyres ($300 for all?). I'm going off of evilBay prices though... they spike up wildly as the auctions near 1 minute left. Ron, you must be (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/screwy.gif) ... Aint no way I'm putting a rock on her finger just yet. Then she'll be all up in my checking account. My money will become "our" money. Fuch that!
