OK, As some of you may be aware, I have been looking for a DZ302 crankshaft for quite a while.... It is a 3.00 short stroke crank(HIGH REVS)
The people who are buying these cranks are paying a premium, to build #'s correct motors for the 69 Z28 crowd... Well, last night I stumbled upon some NasCar 3.26 cranks. Mind you, the stroke is very close to a 327, but the guys that have been using these seem to be using flat top pistons, and 6.20 rods, instead of 5.7, and high compression pistons... Does anybody on the board know anything about these cranks and motors...? Jimmy? BigKat? PS I am looking to build a short stroke, small bore, high RPM motor... Not a torque monster... Crower makes cranks too if i remember right. Also, chevy performance parts used to sell cranks in many congiurations, even had a raw forging. Dont know if they still do.
If you are trying to build some over-square rev happy monster, why not build a 377 (400 block 350 crank) and save yourself alot of green? 350 steel cranks are a dime a dozen. |
