HOLY DAMN SHIT!!!!
okay, so it still stumbles a bit off idle, but above 3k.... it makes piss-your-pants type power 2nd and 3rd gear are like freaking warp drive kicked in. until 5th gear, this car is everybit as fast as the last 911SC i drove. it's actually a little scary, seriously. Trekkor: you've still got a bit more grunt, but i would be nipping at your heals in a straight line. |

update.
back in from a nice long drive -- hasn't scattered yet! in fact, just keeps running better and better as i drive it... i am really confounded by how much power this thing makes. it doesn't seem right, some how... maybe it also has to do with the 200 lbs i removed while the engine was in surgery... my ignition is sub-obtimal, for sure. i'm running my old dizzy of the '75 Djet w/ the vaccuum advance disabled (w/ crane). it only has like 8 or 10 degrees total advance. okay at 4k rpm, not great off idle... beats an 009, but probably not by much. idle was a little gassy, leaned it out slightly. oil consumption seems to be starting to drop a little. only have like 50 miles on it, so hard to tell. valves haven't moved. plugs look excellent. |
