(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) Hi guys, got a question for you: Does the vw 2.0 ignition module on the coil handle all ignition events--or does it also go thru the computer???
I have access to a very stout 2.0 and am thinking of putting it into my teener--would like to run a stand alone ECU for injection only if it is possible--- Comments??? |

Not really--actually less--I would not have to disembowel the ecu harness and reconnect everything up----when the top manifold is removed the bottom runners-( leading to the intake ports ) would need only a mild massage to bolt up my duals--prolly take a welding shop about an hour to complete---then I would have a one wire very high amp alternator and only the power wire to connect to the coil and my crane ignition---
Actually, now that I think about it even more--this would be too easy to do--have water heat for cold days--and a proven bullit proof engine--about the same weight--and very decent hp-tq numbers---- (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif) |
