and you're at a stop light, 2 things either happen... it's usually,
1. "hey! cool car!" 2. They start revving their engines and want to race! This happens all the time to me here in good ol Bremerton, WA! I crack up, because even though deep in my heart I know our cars are a low end Porsche model, they assume it's a race car....All they see is the Badge and in my case, P O R S C H E on my sides and all of a sudden "ITS ON!" Just wondered if this happens to you.... CYA at the stop lights!! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/driving-girl.gif) |

Oh, so that's what it's called... I had some high school idots pull up next to me one afternoon in my 928 revving their engine. I just looked over and smiled. Light turns green, off they go motor racing...I take off, put the 928 in second and punched it. I have a rear muffler bypass on this car and it sounds nice (and loud) when it's that opened up. Anyway, I blow past them and slow down heading to the next red light when I get the classic 'ricer flyby' as I'm slowing down. I thought they were going to blow thru the red light. I'm reminded of some guys shirt I read at a swap meet a few weeks ago, it was great. In fact, I think I'm going to use it in my sig file, it went: "You must really be fast...because you was hauling ass when I passed you."!! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/lol2.gif) Never really been challenged in my 914 except one evening getting on the freeway I had a 912 come up to me and take off. I of course took off after him. Really dumb to do this, but I followed him (didn't try to pass) all the way to his offramp. We were already at 100+mph so I didn't pass - that'd been too crazy. Anyway, I know he was surprised as he didn't even look as he pulled off and I blew right by him. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/driving.gif) Heh, that was fun though! At 45 years old, I guess I too have yet to grow up... |
