I was wondering if anyone out there has shaved the doors handles on their 914? I am in the middle of redoing my 71. I am going with fender flares and think shaved doors would finish it off with a clean look.

Someone brought an XLR by work last year and we checked those features out. You don't really have a key, just a transmitter that you can keep in your pocket and, as you said, everything is activated by proximity. Pretty cool, not sure how to deal with it when it breaks.
Anybody see the videos of the BMW 7 series that the guy was having all the software problems with? The key on that car is this weird cartridge type thing; he'd stick it in to start the car and it would eject it back at him and wouldn't let him go anywhere!!
