Is there a material that would not retain moisture that could be used inside the engine compartment for sound deadening?

Henry (Henry's roofing products) makes a line of automotive products as well: http://www.henry.com/products/specialty/spec_auto.htm

I suspect they may be similar to some of the roofing products. I'm sure you'd get some decent sound deadening, as well as waterproofing with them. They did use these roofing products years ago for auto applications.
