Wonder of wonders, my local dealership claims they work on 914s. It's Baker Porsche/Mercedes/Infiniti/Rover in Charleston (anyone know them at all?). I'm thinking of having the clutch replaced and someone more knowledgable than myself set the valves. Thoughts? Do I need the value size jar of Vaseline for the reaming I'll get?

Reading this thread (while catching up on some long overdue ... well.. Catching up) I began to wonder if it might be worth compiling a list of "Known" mechanics that not only work on, but know, love and care for 914's.
I am all for the DIY way, but there are some things that I just would NOT tackle myself. When those things pop up, I don't want to put my baby in the hands of someone who is not a KNOWN quantity. Plus, I like to travel and wanna take the Teener with me when I do (and have no choice right now as its my every-day car)... When on road trips it would be good to know if you're anywhere near a Tried and Tested Teener Doctor! Maybe this suggestion would be better placed in the feature request forumn.. I'll put it over there and see what response I get. Later Doug |
