The synchro rings themselves need no special tool - except for a GOOD set of c-clip pliers.
But if you are talking about removing the dog teeth from the gear - that's a different story. I've done it on 1st gear without any special tools, but any other gear is near impossible and probably requires the special porsche tool. Demick |
