I have a 81 3/.0 six cyl engine and I want to use it in my 74 914.
What all does the stock main engine wiring harness connect to? What are the basic things I need the harness to connect to? Alternator Starter VR Coil/Ignition |

Since no one else has replied, I'll give it a try.
Use a internally regulated alternator and the wires go right into the stock relay board. The starter and coil/ignition are the same. You'll *want* to wire it all nice and tidy through a Pertronix and MSD 6AL box, though... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/mueba.gif) If you are running carbs, you can take "key on" power off the no longer used terminal from the F.I. harness, also on the relay board.
