well i went to hershey today, i spoke to almost every person who was selling 914 parts ( well not just one part ) and none of them we members here. they all said they did not like the bs. one guy even said all he hears about with the club from people who he knows that come here is his name and what he is doing. well lets just say i have never read his name here at all, so i dont know what he was talking about. other people just said they are sick of all the people here who think they know what they are doing. but the basic theme i got was they all said basicly the same thing... no good info and too much BS ( boy i love this place )
now for the good parts, i talked with charles from LN engineering, and one member ( i dont remeber his name ) who was selling his 300 mile 76 2.0 engine for 1000. it is complete with late exaust and all. then when leaving i see 2 914s with people next to em, one with a 914club hat. so i stopped on the side of the road and ran over to say hello wavey.gif hello dan there was a guy who had a bunch of parts there and a primered roller, which looked ok till i noticed the fiber glass hell hole. so if anyone sees it for sale on the east coast run away, i honestly dont know how bad it is under the fiberglass, but if it is bad enough to glass then well alfred.gif also the swap meet was like 1/4 to 1/8 of what it has been years before, basicly it was a wasted trip |

Lets Put this in perspective.
You met some assholes while you were at a swap meet? And because that swap meet was in PA, East Coast guys are snobs/assholes???? Hmm. If you said EC'ters are: Without tact, I would agree Cars are rustier, I would agree Have more spendable income, I would agree Are less likely to own a 914 as their Porsche, IWA (see #2) Limited in their involvment in 914's, Hmm, I would not agree, as for active racers that regularly post on this board, I feel we hold our own. I feel that during our harsh winters while the west coast guys are enjoying reasonable weather, we actually post more. Expect someone to do what they say they will do, yes EC'ers do. Probably going to pick the correct Hershey Swap meet to go to, yes, we will, and it is in April almost every year. You will find everything there, some willing to dicker and some willing to dick-you. As for West Coast swaps, Maybe this isn't a good representation, but I have been to the Pomona Swap, Some good, some bad, but people trying to sell me Replica Fuchs for factory. It must have been the accent. Thinking they could get over on some Dumbass New Englander guy asking "how much for dem wheels" and "I paahked my cah ova theyya" No, it's not a Honder, its a Chrysla" "with a two point tree lita". Naw, goin to see me ma, laita" "Been wohken on my ninefahhteen"" bout yout"? Ben hanging round down da squareah" "nothing down theyeah, cept skimmas and skiddas. Thems ya lobstamn, and ya lubamn. Yeah, Here on the east coast we have our own languge, but at least every sentence does'nt start and end with Dude, or bitching. Can't we all just have a beer (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/drunk.gif) and get along. Erik Madsen all in good fun. Do you think you can translate my southie accent. Even though I am not from southie, I'm from Missouri, the state that could not make up its mind where the war would take place. LOL... |
