I have had to replace 2 bosch starters in just a little over a year. Is it common for 914's to go threw starters often? I have ran redundent grounds and power to see if it was an issue with that and i still have the same problems. Would a heat shield help at all?

Have you tried using a jumper directly from the battery to the trigger on the solenoid? Could be a few things in there that could contribute to this like seat interlock relay/ign switch or you could do as I did put on a gear reduction starter and no problems since (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) AL
