I know the rennshifter is the only way to go, but I cant spend 400+ on a shifter. I dont hate 901 shifting, but a shorter throw would be nice. Does the quick shift from performance products do that effectively? Or am I just asking for trouble?

Have to agree. Rebuilt my sideshifter, changed all bushings e.t.c and installed a rennshift junior. Found with the reduced throw I was always fighting gear shifts and struggling to find certain gears - just never felt right. I borrowed an original 901 shifter which I have just fitted and the difference is amazing - my car now shifts great. A slightly shorter throw would be good but I am really happy with the way it shifts now.
