QUOTE (Hawktel @ Jul 28 2005, 12:04 AM)
I use to drop a buck or two on a Panhandler that hung out at the freeway exit I had to take for work.

Until work made me come in 2 hours early at 4 am, and I saw him jump out of a Lexus, smooch the blond who was sliding over to take the wheel, and grab his sign out of the trunk.

Unbelievable.

local news did a thing on panhandlers here that claim to be homeless...

they followed one lady home... she hopped in her BMW (about 4 years old) and drove to her house in a prominant part of town...

another guy they followed the whole week, he "works" the streets here, stays in a nice apt. and then on friday after rush hour, he goes back to oklahoma, gets his other car(not the POS he is seen in here, a newish mustang, IIRC) from his big house, and spends the next couple of days in the Indian casino... partying like there's no tommorrow...

another(a midget) used the "will work for food" gimmick, and people would give him combo meals from the nearby mcdonalds and food from their grocery bag... he throws it in the sewer because he's really not hungry... I'm sure he eats after he gets back to his denton house.

these people are living better than most hard-working people and all they do is stand and beg... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/flipa.gif)

my dad even offered to pay a few panhandlers in Austin to help his "clean-up" crew(picking up nails and "trash" from the ground while they are putting the roof on) , he offered to pay them $100/day and feed them 2 meals a day... not one person was willing to do it... it was too much like work
