Took the 914 powered 356 up to Solvang over the weekend. Going up a hill it started pinging......I'm running Super, or what CA calls 91 octane. I'm thinking that the 009 that's in there is junk.
So, I'm looking for suggestions and a 050 dizzy if anyone has one laying around. This motor was Chris C's old motor before he went with the /6 in hos race car. Pulls like a tractor up to 5K then runs out of steam.....more advance than the 009 can give? |

mike, what is your timing @ 3000 rpm? while the 009 may have it's limitations on the bottom end you will prob have to live with it til you can make the switch. if you have "fudged" the timing, do you think that is cause of the pinging @ full mch adv? with the longer stroke, does that make the engine less willing to wind up? is the engine sim to a raby configuration? sorry for so many questions with little help.
