Well, my car got t-boned/side-swiped on the third. Not repairable either. Took out most of the pass. side. Rush hour traffic sucks! Im completley ok though. Not a scratch on me.

I'm sorry to see about your car. The times I saw it, I thought it looked really nice and i know you put some effort into it. I'm sure glad you are OK. I hope the guy who hit you is OK too, but feeling bad. Be prepared when you deal with insurance adjusters. Know what you want and have references to back it up. That excellence article is a good place to start. Anything on paper will help but, heresay like the guys on the board said "It's worth $____" won't help. Your age will work against you. When I was 25 I got a new 74 Super Beetle. I had it 6 weeks and a guy ran a stop sign and wasted the left front including the strut. I was in dental school and didn't have much extra time. It ended up in the body shop and after 2 weeks I called to see what the hang up was. The shop owner said he could release it cause it needed a front end alignment and wasn't safe and the ASSHOLE adjuster wouldn't OK it. So I called the guy and he said the car was fine. They paid to replace the strut but wouldn't pay to align it. Neither guy would budge so I called the insurance commissioner. They straightened it out. Even if he seems like a nice guy, the adjuster will not be on your side. Dave |
