I just read in my Bosch Automotive Handbook that most breaker point contacts are made of Tungsten. In air tungsten melts at around 6200F. Good luck finding a PN junction component that can handle what tungsten can. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool_shades.gif) |
