I received a Weltmeister Rear Sway Bar as a donation to my track car project.

It's a used unit and as such has no instructions/templates for the install. Anyone have any pics of theirs in the car and tips to make sure I don't dick it up?

A test fit shows that it may interfere with the shocks at the full-soft setting. Both ends of the bar contact at the adjustable mount. There doesn't seem to be that much room for travel either, though I can shorten the droplinks by about 3/4 inch or so (unless the bar is supposed to ride below the lower shock mount? Seems unlikely, but that's why I'm asking the question, eh?)

A search only gave me a photo of a stock set up which doesn't help. The mounting points are different, but the bar is in the correct position above the lower shock mount.

Many TIA!

Chris and Brant;

Thanks Gentlemen (?) that's exactly what I was looking for.

So as you can see from the attached photo, my drop link also is contacting my trunk floor, but the instructions and Brant's photos show the drop links going below the shock mounts vs. above (as I did and as a stock set up is.) Sure I can shorten them a bit, but they've contacted the floor with just 2 days of spirited street driving. I could only imagine the damage when I AX it. The bar's PO put hose clamps on the bar to operate as the stops. Not nifty aluminum stops like Brant's, but they do the trick. ps: Brant, your shocks and springs are real purty. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wub.gif)

Thanks again. Time to get back under the car to flip the bar! (or just the links, since the bar is in the correct orientation.)

Oh, and Andrew, the lower shock bolt is something that comes with the bar and is specific for the application. Though if you don't have them for the bar I suppose you could easily weld a boss to the end a stock mounting bolt. Depends on your welding skills I suppose? I would think it could work.
