i live in colorado and drive my car year round.

I picked up one of the 24 volt ones on EBay. It cannot be converted to 12 volts (the fuel control solenoid) though it has an internal voltage drop to 12 volts for other circuits. It's an old army surplus unit, so should work fine. The one I recieved was NOS, so I hope I can get it working OK. The battery in series should work fine to get 24 volts, I was hoping to use a motorcycle battery in series with the car battery. There is not a lot of amperage draw by the circuits, basically a fan and a solenoid to control fuel flow.

If possible, I'm hoping to mount it at the bottom of the front trunk, right behind my front oil cooler ducting. The top of the unit should still allow the trunk board to be in the normal position. I'm still trying to see where I can run the hot air hoses to the factory manifolds, so I can use the factory dash controls for heat distribution and defrosting.

This unit is certainly much more reasonably priced than the Webasto unit if it works, and much cheaper than factory 914-6 heat exchangers.

I just wish John Daniels @ SSI could have been convinced that there is a market for 914-6 stainless heat exchangers that actually fit and heat well.
