I flew home next to a guy who owned a manufacturing plant in Minnesota. He'd hire people and if they didn't work out he'd fire them. Terms of their contract & probation period all spelled out. He was getting hit with lawsuits all the time for wrongfull dismissal until he started to fight back. He started to sue the lawyers who brought forth the suits. There was a group of them (8 or 9) that seemed to file against him all the time. He sued because they knew they had a unwinnable case (they all asked for a settlement) and he asked for costs & damages for the original suit they had brought and costs for the counter suit.
I asked if it worked and his answer was it had been over a year and I haven't had another suit brought against him or the company. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) |
