Has anyone installed pressure and temperature gauges in the dash below the fuel gauge and speedometer? This would replace the cigarette lighter and fog light switch. I am going to use 2 1/16" VDO gauges. Any pitfalls to watch out for? Anyone have pics? Thanks!

Mounting in the dash has been done, with up to 4 gauges. There are some photos around here somewhere. This is fine for non-critical gauges like fuel level or a voltmeter, but things like oil temp and pressure you want to keep an eye on are better mounted directly in front of you. You could buy a 911 oil temp/pressure gauge and slot it in where the stock combo gauge goes, then mount a fuel gauge on the dash. Very common setup.
The ashtray setup also works, and generally involves less cutting than mounting it lower. Two 2" gauges fit there quite well. |
