I dont have a battery tray right now. I'm going to buy one and weld it in if an optima gel battery will fit on it. If not I'll just fab my own. Well, will it fit? BTW I did a search and turned up nothing battery related.

Yep, they fit fine.
BUT, the normal red-top has the posts reversed from a typical 914 battery. This is easily cured by putting in longer cables -- fresh cables are not a bad idea at all on a car as old as our 914's. There is supposedly also an "orange top" with the posts flipped, but I personally have never seen one. |
