Does anyone know if this will fit or has been attempted - installing a water cooled VW engine in a 914? Thanks!

I've installed a VR6 in a 914, ugly install (cut rear trunk wall which distracts from the conversion to me)........ for the VW straight 4, only parts that you can buy to help with the conversion is the adapter plate and flywheel from Kennedy Engineering...the rest of the parts such as engine mounting brackets will all have to be fab'd by you...no big deal if you have the resources. like Steve (Porcharu) mentioned, there are better engines out there for swapping unless you just happen to have the motor already and don't mind dropping the $500 for the adapter parts |
