I'm trying to understand the RAT full flow system. If a case has been tapped and drilled for the remote filter, does this mean it bypasses the factory oil cooler?
With the setups I've seen, they tap into the remote oil filter housing with the front external cooler and it looks like the stock cooler isnt even used. (IMG:http://www.tunacan.net/t4/tech/oil_pics/layout.gif) the full flow system taps into the large oil pressure relief piston just after the cooler? so no oil is being forced through the cooler? Does this sound right? |

From my understanding, it goes a little something like this.
The oil pump output hole is plugged so the oil does not go through the case to the filter. The oil pump cover plate is tapped on the pressure side. This runs to wherever you like, then come back into the case before the cooler. I'm not sure where the bypass valve for the filter is (in red) Attached image(s) |
