It will kinda stumble and miss with a real lack of power until about 2800. After that it pulls strong.
I set the timing the on Fri. at 3500 rpm and the mark on the fan linned up in the v groove on the housing. I rebuilt the dist. last night but only removed the nut holding it to the case. I it possible with the rebuild, the timing is different?? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif) |

the motor runs ok when first started. I did find a couple of vac. leaks, one at the cold start valve and another at the intake man. gasket. I will address those and try again
the engine is a stock 1.7 with the stock FI and stock Dizzy. When I set the timing @ 3500, I disconnected the vac. advance, brought the motor to 3500 and checked that the 27* timing mark on the fan was in the V groove on the housing. things may have changed after I rebuilt the dizzy, I think I was having a problem with the mechanical advance. |
