What clear coat should I use on my gas tank? I would think that there is a special use clearcoat that will resist gasoline?
Also, can you clearcoat the gascap? Mine keeps dulling over time... Keith |

Here's what I did to make the tank like new...
Cleaned the inside of the tank with POR tank refurbisher kit. (or you can have it hot tanked at a radiator shop). Get it powder coated in semigloss black Then apply POR fuel tank internal sealing/coating on inside of tank. You need to get the tank powder coated FIRST as the heat fromt he oven will melt the fuel tank sealing kit. Will look like this when finished... (IMG:http://www.my914-6.com/images/dscn1944.jpg) |
