Trying to diagnose why my parking brake red warning lights do not shut off. I understand it could be one of two switches - either the master cylinder reset switch or the handbrake switch. I'll be checking the master cylinder switch this weekend. I've already checked the handbrake switch and it is working, but I dont know how/where it is installed to make contact with the handbrake... does anyone have any pics of this? Also, what else could be causing my issue? Is there a relay involved? Steve

I don't have any pics handy, but I have noticed that the tab on the brake lever does not extend far enough to the right to reliably engage the switch, which is mounted on the floor. This results in a constant flashing of the brake light and a "tick tick tick" of the relay. I tried installing the brake handle with some washers nderneath it (to move it more toward the center of the car), but the problem came back. Personally, I think this was misaligned by the designers.

Next time the brake handle comes out, I'm thinking of welding an extension onto the tab so it will hit the switch every time.
