SO I hope to be getting my new used lid soon. Thought about using some of theses slick fasteners instead of all the factory latching stuff.
Anybody have experience with them? Plan on using stock hinges right now and either two or four of the DZUS fasteners. |

All my bodywork work is held on with the little boogers. They take a little getting use to, but not a big deal. Drilling a blind hole in newly paint body work is always fun. They have some built in adjustment to them so you don't need to be perfect. You have to know the length of them. If you get them too long for your application they won't work. You can adjust your mounting plate to account for this but you'll learn as you go.
For my hood I'm using the type that don't need a tool to lock them. They have "wings" like a wingnut. I also use hood pins just in case. Depending on where you get them they can run about $3.00 a piece, so shop around. |
