Admins... Move this to another forum of not appropriate here.

My 17 year old sister (Junior in High School) want to go to Art School to be a photographer. She is already quite an accomplished photographer and is developing an excellent portfolio. She has recently started winning a number of competitions and has some of her work being published in a book.

I have purchased a web domain for her and I'd like her to start developing her online portfolio to share her work.

Which web-authoring software would anyone recommend that is...

a. for Windows-based PCs
b. relatively inexpensive
c. EASY to learn and to use
d. Creates professional results

She is not the most technical person, so I don't expect her to start inputting html code.

Advice is appreciated.

Thanks,

Qarl

Qarl,

Christopher suggested Coppermine and I think he is probably on the right track. I have set up quite a few websites using Gallery which is very similar. I prefer using Gallery since it is now database driven and has a lot of very useful functions. As examples, the search function is excellent as well as your sister could choose to automatically watermark all of her images so it would be difficult for them to be directly pilfered. There are some screenshots of sites using Gallery here.

Setup is definitely not for the novice. But once it is running, it is very simple to use. My sister is a casting director and she uses it for making talent headshots available to producers. It is also incorporated directly into my wife's site for displaying her property listings (she is a Realtor).

Check it out. If you decide that this makes sense for your sister, let me know. The setup and configuration are on me. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beer.gif)
