We are returning to Hot Springs for the Mid US 914 Ramble #5...back to the fabulous Lake Hamilton Resort. The dates are October 2-5, 2003. Put that on your calendar. Group room rates at the Lake Hamilton Resort are $69. Call them prior to Sept 2nd at 1.866.712.8606 to reserve a room at this rate. Tell them you are with the "914 SIG" to get the group rate.
We'll get out more information about the events and the registration fee soon... check the 914 Special Interest Group Events Page. In the meantime, whet your appetite by checking out the LRH Website It's going to be a GREAT time this year. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mueba.gif) |

Several of us are planning on meeting and caravaning to Hot Springs and would like to welcome others to join us.
As of now, there will be three 914s. One of those will be Curt (vsg914), who will be doing a celebratory drive with his newly installed engine. We are meeting on Thursday morning, around 9:14am at the Harbor Mountain Coffee House, in McAlester, OK, right off the interstate highway. We'll be using 2way radios to help keep things together. Our route will incorporate twisty two-lane blacktop all the way to Hot Springs. We'll drive hwy 63 to Talihina and then on to the much herald Talimena Scenic Drive on hwy 1, which routes along the ridge of the Ouachita Mountains to Mena, AR. Then it's hwy 88 (the roller coaster) to Hot Springs. Very Scenic. Very curvey. We expect to arrive around mid-afternoon. If you're coming from the Dallas/FW area, it will add about 80 miles to your drive, but if you've never driven the Talimena Drive, I think you'll find it well worth the extra miles.
