I have a '75 2.0, in good+ shape (the major rust repairs have been done, engine was rebuilt fairly recently, etc) and it would seem that if the car was totaled I'd need about 6-7k to buy another one that was in really good shape, so naturally I want to insure it for more. The insruance co. said they'd insure it for $8000 without an appraisal as long as I sent them a bunch of photos, and it met the current price listing in the "Older car pricing guide". I have never heard of this pricing guide, nor can I find it using a google search.
Anyone know of this particular 'pricing guide'? Or what it's actually called? Or what our cars are currently valued at? And/or does anyone have any things I should know when insuring a 'classic car'? Thanks! |

Mine is insured for 35k. The insurance company didn't question me at all on the pricing. I just know what it's gonna cost to replace and went from there.
Seems to me a nice 2.0 should be around 10k to replace. |
