I have a '75 2.0, in good+ shape (the major rust repairs have been done, engine was rebuilt fairly recently, etc) and it would seem that if the car was totaled I'd need about 6-7k to buy another one that was in really good shape, so naturally I want to insure it for more. The insruance co. said they'd insure it for $8000 without an appraisal as long as I sent them a bunch of photos, and it met the current price listing in the "Older car pricing guide". I have never heard of this pricing guide, nor can I find it using a google search.

Anyone know of this particular 'pricing guide'? Or what it's actually called?
Or what our cars are currently valued at?

And/or does anyone have any things I should know when insuring a 'classic car'?

Thanks!

Has anyone found classic insurance that will allow you to drive your car to work occasionally?? I really want to be able to drive to work when it's nice out. Hagerty said "No".

I went through this earlier this year and I found NO collector insurance that would let you drive the car to work etc not even on occasion. It seems like Hagerty, Leland West and many others only want you to "garage" your car and never drive them. Most are only for shows and club events. Be careful or you'll be stuck.
