At the last AX I went to I noticed the gas pedal was starting to move from side to side
in a strange unusual manner....still works fine but not confidence inspriring. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)
Took a look at the base where it mounts to the floor...
Right side of mounting rubber seems to be pulling away from mounting screw....
Rubber is probably getting old...needs to be repaired or replaced.

So has anyone done any repairs to this area before....and if so what did you do and what did you use to perform the repair.

If not what are some good sources for a replacement.....or are they even available any more? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Thanks

Yeah - got a new one for $75 from HPH. Mine would go 45 deg either way, and sometimes just bend to the side instead of going down (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

There is a metal hinge completely hidden in the rubber that rusts away or breaks...yours is just starting to fail. I've read here that some people take the Home Depot approach and attach a standardish hinge to the back with screws, but who knows how long this lasts and if you want to trust it when it really matters (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)
