Anyone able to provide info on an engine with a stamping of 901/38 and serial number 6404328?
It appears to be a big bore for either a 911 or 914-6 but I can't find where it fits in the vin/engine serial number range. |

Correct, but to refine that a little it is a North American engine not Sporto
911/36 64y0xxx ROW 911/37 64y7xxx ROW Sporto 911/38 64y4xxx NA 911/39 NA Sporto y = year (0, 1, 2) if production exceeded 1000 engines it would roll up example 6405xxx for NA 916 engine series 63250xx |
