Short version:

BBQ for 914 folk

Sunday, November 5th
from noon until whenever

Nathan and Zoya's house in SF

866 41st Ave
94121

RSVP

Long version:

During the process of selling my 914 some weeks ago, I had the opportunity to reflect on how truly friendly and unusual this club is -- clearly, it's more than a just a message board. I have personally benefited immensely from this site, and as a thank you gesture, I'd like to throw a little BBQ in the honor of 914world.com.

I'll buy and prepare more than enough tri-tip roast, bbq chicken, and grilled veggies to feed everyone who RSVP's -- as well as a 5 gallon keg of good beer. I'll also supply plates, cups, etc. You can bring yourself and your clan -- as well as any chips, extra beverages (we'll probably need more beer), other meats (not necessary, unless you have a hankering for hotdogs), lawn chairs (we don't have too many), or vegetarian alternatives that you'd like.

Show up anytime after noon. We'll start eating around 2 or 3pm... Or show up as late as you wish -- the BBQ is over when the last person leaves (we can have a bon fire in the backyard).

You'll also have the chance throughout the day to post your fastest time in a GT3 on Laguna Seca (I'll set up the driving sim. in the garage), as well as try your hand in an 8-ball tournament (we have a pool table). Just to further entice you to come, the winner of the 8-ball tournament will receive a fresh jug of Swepco 201 gear oil; and the winner of the Laguna Seca time trial will receive a fresh liter of Superblue racing brake fluid.

Just to be clear: that's free food, free beer, questionable company, and the chance to win gear oil and brake fluid.

Please RSVP in this thread and let me know how many guests you'll bring (all are welcome)!

There is limited space (a spare bedroom) for people to crash out for the night. Best to call dibs on the futon asap!

p.s. November weather in SF (especially near the beach) could be moderately warm, or it could be cool and crisp. Bring some warm layers, just in case.
