I wonder how big of an air tank would be needed to power a car for the average commute, and at what pressure the air is stored. Hmmm ... AirPorsche ... This looks like a very interesting idea.

Compressed air was used to run locomotives in mines in the 1800's. They consisted of a large tank rather than a boiler, and cylinders and side rods like a steam powered locomotive. No combustion gases in the tunnels!
