How do you attach a fiberglass fender to a car? Is the fender a full fender or is it mostly a partial so you have to cut away the metal fender and graft in the FB in the resultant hole? Pictures?

I have some questions about Fiberglass Fenders, and quarter panels.
If you pull the metal Fenders, all they way around, and install Fiberglass ones, does it cause structual intergity issues? If you had Fiberglass Fenders hoods, and bumpers, but steel doors, would you feel safe using that as a street car? If you added a cage would it be safe enough? Would you recommend just going to a body shop for this type of rebody, over a relative tyro trying this type of body work? In your experince, do FG pieces ussualy line, up, or require a shitload of prep work to get the gaps right? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) With having Steel Doors, and FG everything else, will it be quickly apparent between them? I'm sure I'll have more questions when I start this part of the WORK as I'm calling it now, after the New year. Ifg you answer, thanks in advance! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) |
