How do you attach a fiberglass fender to a car? Is the fender a full fender or is it mostly a partial so you have to cut away the metal fender and graft in the FB in the resultant hole? Pictures?

The main reason I'm interested in doing all FG fenders is weight. I'm a big guy, 300 pounds, I think I can lost ~50 pounds from me, but the rest has to come from the car.

The car I'm trying to work out the planning on is going to be a Weekend street driver/ distance cruiser, with some track days. It needs a new trunk lid, so thats going to be FG, and its going to want Flares at some point. I don't think I can afford Steel Flares.

I do plan to add a cage, but its not going to be a full bar hopping cage. I don't really care about the resale value of the car. I plan to die and get buried in this ride. I certainly do want to be safe though, and so now I'm reconsidering the FG full fenders.

I've not spent a dime on this so I'm not committed either way yet. Infact its most likey going to be next year before I see any exterior change on this ride. But, I've always heard on a project car to have a plan, and stick to the plan. 'Sides if I win the loto, I need to have a plan to move quickly on right?

Thank you for your insight though guys. I'll keep working out a plan. and watching other guys progress for now.

And ohh, Dave your car looks horrible. If your so ashamed of it, I'll let you park it in my covered parking spot, if you leave me the keys and a full tank of gas.
