One of the prior owners had a three ring binder w/ stuff he had printed off the internet. In it was a classified listing that had alot of familiar names on it. The listing was from 1997 from a 914 club that was on diginet or digi.com or something like that based in the midwest.

I remember the dgi.net days, before Pelican... That's where I found out that 99% of the 914's seemed to be located in SoCal. I bought a brain (which I prob didn't need but who knew they almost never went bad?) for my 72 1.7 from Otto's in Venice (got Otto's info from the dgi.net board). Before that site I was stumbling around a dark room looking for the light switch...
I remember printing out page after page of parts houses/recyclers. One of the the houses, Nebraska Porsche Recyclers near Blair, Nebraska was a couple hrs from Lincoln (where my dad had just moved) so we took a trip out there when I was visiting and I though I'd found the Rosetta Stone! Damn, that was 10yrs ago and my car still isn't the way I'd like it to be! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) |
