Check it out. Hall sensor, perfect for megasquirt conversion -- drops right in type 4 case. I'm not the seller -- just thought it was a good deal that someone may need.

You can do the same thing with a sensor on a toothed crank wheel, but on a T4 with standard cooling there's no "easy" location for the wheel except behind the fan, where you'll never see it again. So that distributor is a simple way to trigger electronic injection and/or ignition, Megasquirt, Megajolt or anything else.

Hmm. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

That gives me an idea for a trigger wheel.

But, can the Hall sensor be used as knock detection in this case?

a hall sensor is a motion type device (something (magnet) has to be turning or passing by the sensor)

I am not sure how a knock sensor works, but I would guess it's like a microphone
