I had my motor on a milk crate- (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif)
The crate collapsed and shifted, dennting both oil return tubes on one side of the motor. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) This should put a kink in my 914 fantasy. I am very disappointed. Almost sick. I looking at a tear down to replace these things. No serious damage just very depressing, as the motor was to go in tomorrow... Got the clutch and pressure plate back on though (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif) KT Attached image(s)

ok....milk crates are designed to hold....pardon me
16 litres of milk ea we do not stack them more then six high a litre weighs aprox 1 kg.... so that means a crate should be able to carry a total weight on its side walls of 16x6 subrtact the sixteen kgs that are in the bottom case, and you get a total design weight aproximation.....of 80kg....multiply by approxs 2.2046 for the pound weight of one case 176.37......now i am not saying you should not exceed the weight of 175 lbs per case (within reason)......but the question is what does a six weigh?.... and it is a gud thing that nothing was really damaged engine wise on the motor..... but i guesse....i must defend my motives for finding the humour in this matter.... honestly i enjoy reading of Trekkors experiences, driving vids, fudging a brake cooler, and on and on, and as a guy imersed in the duldrums of the grocery busness on a snowy cold winters day thought perhaps we should once again be reminded of Trekkor and his unusual delemas....good or bad. |
