[font=Comic Sans Ms] I just bought Cpt Tripps retored '73 2L. Flew out to Cleveland and drove it home to NJ last week. Carbureted engine running a bit rough. Does anyone know a good Porsche mechanic in NJ, preferable near Manasquan. In my younger days, out in Huntedon Co., I used Fred Apgar (Apcar) on my '63 356B. Is he still alive and in business?

Where abouts in Hunterdon County was that? There were a ton of Apgars there, a bunch in and around High Bridge. I grew up in Clinton, but live in So Cal now.

Small world. My first house was on North Main St in High Bridge, NJ. Later in the woods, near Ken Lockwood Gorge. I know there are a bunch of Apgars in that area. Fred Apgar was special. Had a bonafide Porsche repair shop about 7 miles north of Clinton/High Bridge on Rt 513 in the little village of Califon.

Good luck finding a tech. Like I said, if you get stumped, I can call a friend of mine in Flemington who will know where to go (at least in Hunterdon Cty).

When did you live in High Bridge?

IIRC there was a Porsche guy up past Vorhees High School. It's been years, but I think I can still picture all the cars out front.
