The NASCAR hp stretched the gearbox(s) and chassis limits which escalated the costs. It is an awesome car and I appreciate Elmer (with his means) for having it built.

damn, that's fast.
well, you're absolutely right on point that there are just-as-fast cars out there for less than 250k. hell, you can get a semi-fresh gt3 cup car for ~125k. by the writer's own admission, he has "only" 60k in parts (minus engine). clearly, there must be a LOT of labor/fabrication in the car. still, i've seen the GT3 cup cars out there (they run 1:48's and lower in good weather), and they don't "seem" as fast or brutal as this car did to me. in any case, i would agree with soloracer's estimate of 75k reserve. it'll be intersting to see if he gets it. |
