So Im currently working on the resto of my doors.
I pulled off the "wing" window seals and am cleaning them from reinstallation (still in fine shape). here's the question I notice that they have a film of like wax in all the compression ridges. Is this a factory installation trick or what? |

Is this a factory installation trick or what? Rich, I noticed this when I was redoing my '72 years ago. Looks, feels, acts like beeswax, which would make sense for installation. Whatever it is, it's in a bunch of areas, including the sail panels, door panels, etc. Guess it doesn't hurt anything & makes things easier to install, but it can get messy on hot summer days. Weeps out of some areas. |
