Attached ImageHey all
My name is mike, I’ve been a member of 914world (914club) since march 2005 when my son Kenny (a.k.a. orange914) bought his first 914. at present he owns an early 1973 that is a keeper. This is why I’m researching this particular 914

From what I’ve learned the first 1000 1973 914’s were slated for the European market but sent to the U.S. due to early 73 demand. They have some unique features that I’m attempting to research. I contacted a few members earlier on this but had my computer crash and lost all info.

If you have ANY info. On this car or have noticed any oddities drop a line. Please e-mail me

Thanks, mike (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

I have 4732907132,
also has early doors with late mechanism
Car is in Canada now but was told it was bought in Germany
I have repair receipts from very early mileage showing work performed on the car in Germany. Car was then owned by a doctor stationed in a Canadian armed forces camp.
I wonder when they made the switch from early to reinforced doors ???

Which would make sense, Mine is 11/72
So around which vin ?

Anyone ever found out ???

BTW, Doug Seems like you're working much faster than I am,
Work here is crazy, I have one tech in training and another that's been retired for the past 10 years but is still coming in and getting paid...
So it makes me the only WORKING tech to take care of the whole distribution system.

Oh well at least the car is in the heat and secured.
I did some work on it but still a bit to do.
It's on it's wheels and bodywork is 3/4 done.
Hope to paint in summer!

Take care,

Steph
